Night Riots Album Release Show | October 21st 2016

This was one of the most important days of 2016 to me. The day had finally come, the Night Riots album release show. It was their first full length album as Night Riots and I was involved with so much of the build up to Love Gloom as well as taking the photo for the cover and in the booklet as well. We spent so much time just talking about ideas, watch inspiring movies, shooting different tests. So, when the day came to shoot the album release show and sell their merch including shirts and CDs with my photos on them, I was very excited. They sold out The Troubadour in LA and it was an amazing show. I couldn't have been more proud of these guys on this day after knowing how much work they have put in leading up to this point and how much they will continue to put in for their fans.

Favorite Photos of 2016

2016 is over and I'd like to share with you some of my favorite photos from this year. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities i've received this year. Touring with The Rocket Summer at the beginning of the year was amazing, then spending the whole summer working with Night Riots on their first full length release Love Gloom, and finally ending the year with a seriously amazing tour. I couldn't be happier and I can't wait to step it up in 2017!

Flier for the Meet Up

Flier for the Meet Up

Being from such a small area Richard and I are always nervous that maybe no one will come to these meet ups but every time we host them, new friends are made and that is always worth it to us. Having a positive place for the local photography community to hang, talk, and collaborate is always a good  feeling. We never blow up our feeds too much with fliers, we just try to keep it casual and relaxed. We always joke about canceling it while we are waiting for people to show up just incase no one comes but they always do and it is always a good time. This time we met up in Cambria to hang out and shoot the sunset. Every time I say I'm going to get a portrait of everyone there and I never do. I swear I got really close but maybe next time. I'm also including some pictures from a few days after the meet up. Richard went out to the coast to get some shots and so I'm just going to post them here instead of posting them in a whole separate blog.

Day Trip To Big Sur | September 3, 2016

My good friend Richard hit me up,  less than an hour before we ended up leaving, to see if I wanted to go up to the Big Sur area for the day to see our friend David that works in Limekiln. After  being at my house for about half an hour, I was already charging my camera batteries and packing to leave again.  The first half of the day was spent with David showing us a small trail he likes to take that leads to a beautiful view of the ocean. While killing time for the sun to start going down, David thought of the idea to black out his room and show me how developing a film print works. Although Richard is no stranger to film and the dark room, it was really a treat for me to see someone doing this for the first time in my life. Developing film will always be something I'm interested in and would love to understand it better, so seeing him do that was definitely a pleasant surprise of the day. If you would like to see some of David's amazing work, check out his website here. http://dkr4.com The second half of the day was Richard and I trying to chase the sun to get a shot before it went down. A lot of people were on the road that day so it proved pretty difficult to find the right place but just when we thought we were going to miss it, we ended up seeing one of the most amazing sunsets. We quickly found a place to park and hop out to take some photos. On the way home, it just so happened that the moon was very small and the sky was very clear, so we got to take some shots of the milky way over the ocean. I was hoping to do some star trails but the milky was so clear that I decided just to focus on that. What began as just a day trip to Big Sur turned into a really great memory.

Throwback to New Years Eve 2013

Throwback to New Years Eve 2013

Since I became a photographer, I have never gotten to take photos of fireworks on the 4th. So the fact that I was front row for the Cayucos, Ca annual 4th of July fireworks show, I was extremely excited. I snapped as many shots as I could and decided to show you guys some of my favorites.

CCPOV Photographers/Adventure Meet Up #8 | June 25th, 2016

A good friend of mine, Richard Fusillo, and I started doing photographer meet ups in our area as a way to bring the local photo community together and it has been really cool. CCPOV stands for Central Coast Point Of View which pretty much just means what we photograph on the Central Coast.  He continues to host stuff when I go on tour so he really is the guy that keeps everything moving forward. This past one was on June 25th and a handful of people came. We all hung out for a bit and then shot some sunset shots and that is what these pictures are of. Anyone, photographer or not, is welcome to come out to the meet ups.

BFD 2016 with Night Riots | June 3rd-4th

So I got to reunite with Night Riots this June to shoot the Live 105 BFD with them. They also played a show the night before as some sort of BFD pre-party thing. It was fun and I loved reuniting with these guys. I have to be honest though, I didn't take pictures of anyone else but them...Oops.

The guys had to get me a photo pass because I came short notice so they got me every pass...

The Zoetic Tour Part Two May 2016

This was the second half of the Zoetic Tour. It felt crazy because it was only around two weeks long. The crazy part is that it was the shortest tour I've ever been on and so when we left, we were already almost home. It was a great end to the tour starting in Las Vegas and ending with an amazing last show in San Francisco.
